"Tell the officer's wife I'm sorry. I didn't mean to shoot him."

4:35pm. Sgt. Michael Inserra of New Hartford Police pursued details on Walter Richardson by traveling to Pennsylvania.

-Inserra visited the gunman's house. Met his parents Valerie and Walter Sr. While there (On February 28), Walter Jr. called.

-Walter Jr. apologized. Said, "Tell the officer's wife I'm sorry for shooting him. I didn't mean to shoot him." Inserra had a total of three phone conversations with Richardson, who did not reveal his location.

-U.S. Marshals had Richardson's location. They tried to arrest Richardson that night but he fired at the officers. Police fired back and shot Richardson. He died at the scene. One officer was shot, but was protected by a bullet-proof vest. Sgt. Inserra arrived shortly thereafter.

-We see a photograph of the gun Richardson fired outside his Chester, PA location.

Being the wife of a LEO, I have been in tears reading this trial. I can only hope that justice is served swiftly for the sake of the family. The Corr family is in my thoughts and prayers Tracey and Kaitlin I pray for you daily.

Truely disgusting, "I didn't mean to"??? Joe was 30 years young with a lifetime ahead of him. Joe will never again enjoy the simple pleasures people don't think of on the job like watching the sun rise on an A-line or meeting up for a coffee with a neighboring patrolman. Even more sad a wife and baby that will never again have a chance to say I love you or hear it in return from Joe. Why, because you did something you "didn't mean to"?? Truely sad. To the Corr family I am sorry you should have to hear, read and endure something so wrong. Always in my thoughts and prayers, I think of Joe on those A-line as the sun comes up as well as other times. Love, a brother Officer.

If I may be so honest and having been in law enforcement for 6 years that's crap! He didn't want to go to jail and was successful in eliminating this option. He 100% meant to shoot Officer Corr, without a doubt and backing it even more he did it again in a shoot out in PA. He's only sorry that he was getting caught. His death should have been far worse then what he got in PA. To Ofc. Corr's family ~ you will forever remain in our thoughts and will be taken care of from PD's from coast to coast! Never forgotten, a brother down south!

i will leave a comment on the fact of how the tow truck driver did an excellent job on remaining as calm as he could in a situation that he faced, knowing that at any point in time his life could have been taken as well.u did what u needed to do and thank god u were left unharmed and made it back home safely.i have no idea what i would have done myself, your actions in my eyes were just as curageous as the officers chasing these filthy convicts.and your roll of being a victim i'm sure played a great part in locating richardson.i also feel the employee's at lennon's should be honored for their bravery and duties as well.i grew up in utica/rome/remsen and now live in east tennessee but watch video clips and read wktv.com and utica o.d.com on a daily basis.and have closely followed this trial and case since the tragic event happend.god bless everyone related/family/friends/to joe corr u are being thought about even 900 miles away!! ty again wktv for keeping us who arent in the local communinty of the mohawk valley updated on the news that happens from day to day.
